Name: Tony Koretz
Playing (years): 25 years
Style: I play alot of different styles when I write music for television or other productions. But my favourite style and indeed my solo and band efforts tend to fit into the melodic rock category.
Gear: Lots ! I have a project studio with a good range of stuff. As for guitars, I generally play a Gibson SG, an Ibanez 540R, Maton acoustic, Washburn classical. I also borrow Fender strats, and an Ernie Ball Musicman from my brothers at times. Electric guitars mainly through a Peavey EVH 5150 and various rack mounted effects, Digitech midi controller and Boss volume pedal.
Endorsements: Still waiting!
Past accomplishments: 3 albums, production music credits for TV shows
Current and upcoming projects: Too many to list ! I guess promoting my new album “Kicking Cans” is no1 at the moment, amongst many others.
Favorite guitarist: Hard to choose just one. Dave Gilmour, Phil Keaggy, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Joe Satriani
Best musician you’ve ever seen: Guitarist wise, Phil Keaggy would be the best I think. Most underrated, hmm, maybe Kerry Livgren or Tom Scholz.
Four words that best describe what you want to get across in your playing: Feel, tone, power, melody
Your hero: Have to be a toss up between these four, and one’s not even a guitarist ! Phil Keaggy, Alice Cooper, Dave Gilmour, Kerry Livgren.
Ultimate goal: Total World Domination and rulership, a harem of beautiful women and a full Swiss bank account ! No seriously, I just want to touch people with a messge of hope in a crazy world, offer something positive when so much around us is negative, and encourage young kids to play a mean guitar.
