This is what rock ‘n’ roll should sound like. Black Robot has that sloppy raw sound that made those early AC/DC so much fun to listen to. I also hear a little Black Sabbath in here as well. Maybe even some Led Zeppelin. Basically, they took a sound that hasn’t been heard since the late ’70s/early ’90s and they gave it a modern touch, which is pretty impressive if you ask me. You know, back in the day…when music actually meant something…getting a new album from your favorite band was exciting because you knew it was gonna be good. Even some of the “bad” albums from way back when sound really good today. There was a certain magic that seemed to flow through the music and it’s a shame that you don’t really hear that too often anymore. This album does the trick for me.

Over 15 years ago, we made a record with the legendary Dave Cobb — and to be honest, I don’t think it ever got the love it truly deserved. Me, Dave Cobb, and JB Brightman, with a few killer guests, knocked it out in a couple of wild, fun weeks. No fluff. No filters. Just real-deal rock & roll.
At the time, R&R was begging for a proper nod to the classics — and that’s exactly what we gave it. It was an honor to make this record. Sad we didn’t take it on the road and set the touring world on fire like we planned… but hey, the industry’s a machine — bought, sold, and rarely about the music.
But the music? This music? It’s alive. It’ll outlive the noise. And only the ones who really know — the ones who feel it in their bones — will carry it forward for the next generation of rebels and dreamers.
Here’s to that record. And to the ones who get it.
