“Rats & Ravens.” (Scourge Records)

This band is a groovy style death metal band that has a sort a melodic death metal sound. Not bad music-wise, but I was not digging the groovy thrash sound in the mix at times. It came across as if Pantera went melodic death metal. The production is solid, and the band doesn’t sound like a million other bands that I have heard over the past few years.

I got into this a bit more upon repeated listening. The singer, to me, is the best part of the band. I would lose some of the grooves and stick with more of the death metal in their sound, but still keep it melodic.
