When I was a child I lived with my parents in this huge old house where these nuns lived before it was rented to us. I remember being in the basement and hearing a voice. I couldn’t tell you what the voice said. All I remember is the basement door being closed at the top of the stairs and me trying to get up the stairs to that door. The whole time I remember screaming my mom’s name but she never heard me. It seemed like it took quite some time for me to get to the top of the stairs. I felt like something was pulling on me, preventing me from getting to the top, where my mom was waiting on the other side the whole time. I finally made it to the top of the stairs and opened the door. She told me she never heard me screaming.
