Johnny Winter was the real king of Texas blues! He could make his guitar wail like no other.
This was recorded on Swedish TV in front of what looks like a TV studio audience of like 100 people or so. Winter and his band ruled. His blues based rock was very catchy and his vocals not bad at all, he had almost a southern rock sort of voice going on here. Dr.John plays a rockin piano on this, but no Dr.John tunes included. All songs here are all catchy tracks and Winters makes love to his guitar big time on the solos. There’s also a rip roaring version of The Stones “Jumping Jack Flash” and its done in a total blues based way. Also included a bonus track from 1972 that looks like in a studio of “Prodigal Son”. This was a very cool dvd and the camera work is really good considering it was 1987. if you’re into blues base rock n roll this is something you might want in your collection. Info: MVD
