Let Them Know That We’re Still Rock ‘n’ Roll

This past weekend brought some much needed live music to several of the Mid-Atlantic States in the Northeast Region of the US with a total of three shows featuring Memphis based hard rock national act ROXY BLUE as the headliner each night. Beginning in Atlantic City, New Jersey on April 16th with a Friday night show at Bourré followed up by a Saturday, April 17th show in Wilmington, Delaware at BAR XIII and a late afternoon/early evening show in Hanover, Maryland on Sunday, April 18th to cap off the mini concert weekend. Sunday’s show was Brad Lee Entertainment’s Volume 1 installment of BLE PRESENTS SEASON ONE SUNDAY SHOWCASE SERIES at The Original Cancun Cantina. Being touted as LIVE MUSIC IS BACK HOME WHERE IT BELONGS expect to see the Sunday Showcase Series taking place over the next several months in Maryland. All Showcases will call The Original Cancun Cantina home at 7501 Old Telegraph Rd Hanover, MD. Not to mention the Sunday shows at this location are FREE!!!

Denim N’ Leather column will be covering Sunday Showcase Volume 2 show next month featuring another national act along with supporting bands so be on the lookout for that!

While I personally didn’t attend the first two shows of the weekend, I did drive up from Raleigh, NC to attend Sunday’s show at a really cool venue The Original Cancun Cantina. Even though it was a somewhat overcast day the outdoor sand bar area and open air type setting made up for that and was a perfect place to talk with other patrons but still be able to hear the live music. Featuring main act ROXY BLUE as well as other bands Whiskey Grin, Stone Whiskey, Blackleg Miner and John Jammer Cullen who played rock anthems all evening between sets. Special guests included 97 Underground “Baltimore’s Pure Rock Worldwide Screaming 24×7 Commercial Free” at and The Metal Summit “Your Island Of Misfit Toys, brought together to interview the artists related to the Rock and Metal.” You can catch their episodes live on Facebook every Wednesday evening 9:00pm Est

ROXY BLUE formed in 1990 and had only released one album titled WANT SOME? before they disappeared for 27 years coming back around in 2019 with their self-titled album ROXY BLUE. Brad Lee Entertainment’s BLE Artist Services welcomed Roxy Blue to the BLE family in 2019 and they were scheduled to play Ballroom Blitz in Maryland during the weekend of March 20th and 21st 2020 along with bands such as Tora Tora, Spread Eagle, Last In Line, Pretty Boy Floyd and many others but Covid-19 restrictions caused that event to be postponed and Roxy was forced back into submission.

This band wants to play live in front of people as much as possible! Hopefully you can catch one of their shows because they sound really great and you won’t be disappointed. Many of their catchy and fun classic tunes were performed from their first album WANT SOME? along with songs from their 2019 sophomore album ROXY BLUE which are much heavier but still contains some ballads.
